Today I was walking back to home for lunch. A group of schoolchildren passed me, and I heard the usual shouts of “mzungu!”. I ignored them…until a rock hit me in the leg. Furious, I turned and saw a little kid run into a cornfield. Still fuming, I stomped down the muddy road to my house, wiping out on my ass in a puddle. FML.

Today, I was having dinner with my family when my two brothers pointed towards the table. When I looked up, there was a giant cockroach eating leftover food. I was the only one who thought that was not appropriate. FML

Today I left work to get home just before it started to pour. The door was locked, no one was home. My 10 year old sister joined me. My host mom joined us. No one has a key and we’ve been waiting in the rain for 53 minutes. The housegirl left for the hospital with the key at 10 AM, hasn’t come back, and won’t answer her phone. FML.

The other day I sat down on the couch after a tired day at the hospital with my book. I sat down in a puddle of my little host sister’s pee. FML.

Today, I planned a trip to Kakamega to print out a bunch of files and make copies of them for my training. When I got to they cyber, I realized that they only have Microsoft Office 2003. All of my files are in the 2007 format. They’re not compatible. FML.

Today, I didn’t leave work at 3 so that I could play soccer at 5. Not only did we not play because it started to pour, but I was stranded in the office until 5:45. FML.
